About the author

Doug Browning is a horror novelist, educator, and lifelong student of human nature. He earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Wichita State University and has spent more than a decade teaching English composition, literature, and developmental writing at the college level.

As a writer, Doug is drawn to the darker corners of the human experience. His work explores themes of isolation, obsession, trauma, family dynamics, and the unseen forces—both psychological and supernatural—that shape our lives. Influenced by authors such as Stephen King and Kristopher Triana, his stories blend character-driven drama with unsettling horror to create narratives that linger long after the final page.

Doug is the author of Gray Inside, a psychological horror novel that combines alien abduction mythology with themes of depression, anxiety, and memory. He is currently working on Smother, a dark psychological horror novel exploring control, identity, and the lasting impact of emotional abuse.

When he's not writing, Doug can usually be found reading horror fiction, practicing guitar, watching Raiders football, or spending time with his dog, Zelda.

He lives in Wichita, Kansas.
